This Institution established at 1949 according to  govt. order. It is the oldest Primary Teachers’ Training Institute for women in this district. The students qualification for admission in this course was madhyamic passed and the course duration was only for 1 year upto 2006. After 2012 it is after Higher Secondary and the duration of the course is now 2 years. This Institution is run by Sarisha Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, a branch of Ramakrishna Mission Belur Math, Howrah.The Institution is situated besides the Diamond Harbour road in prominent position only 40 km distance from Dharmatala, Kolkata and 8 km from Diamond Harbour rail station.

Sponsored P.T.T.I, Unit-I is one of the oldest and prestigious training institutes of West Bengal since 1949 for the girls, with magnificent infrastructure and qualified faculty members. The institute is rooted with strong sense of dedication, Wisdom, Perseverance, discipline and moral character are the virtues of our student-teachers that have enabled them to achieve laurels and appreciation in academic, sports and co-curricular activities.
